故事开端，程家俊﹝万梓良﹞乃一建筑公司工程师，因工作关系与太子爷江世文结怨，连累女友孙洁明﹝麦翠娴﹞被害，俊报复导致文入狱。文含恨在心买凶杀俊，却误杀其母，俊与控官叶晓琳﹝陈敏儿﹞合力指控文失败，文获释，却遭程家勇﹝林嘉华﹞所枪杀。 俊转投警界，与莫兆康﹝吕良伟﹞结成知交，及后康为取得家产变得不择手段，误杀岑碧舒﹝陈美琪﹞，……。Speedy" loses his job as a soda-jerk, then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He then becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium, where he stays to see the game. When the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl's grandfather) out of business, "Speedy" organizes the neighborhood oldtimers to thwart their scheme.。
